In response to the Phantom Gourmet\'s request for the ultimate Chinese meal, I
have submitted the following:
Dear Phantom:
First let me say that my ultimate Chinese meal would only be achieved at the
Quincy Dynasty, 47-49 Billings Road, Quincy, Ma 02171.
Please bear in mind, that my meal would be shared by several in my dinner
party. My meal would consist of the following:
*Sizzling Rice Soup
*Jelly Fish Salad
*Mushrood Tofu Rolls
*Salted and Peppery Crispy Soft-shell Crab
*Dynasty Chicken Wings
*Green Mussels with Ginger and Scallion
*Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass
*Salted and Peppery Crispy Lobster
*Peking Duck
*Mongolian Spicy Lamb
*Crispy Sesame Beef
*Sauteed Shanghai Greens
*Vegetarians Delight
*Sauteed E-Foo Noodle with Golden and Black Mushroom
*Chinese Spinach Fried Rice
*Green Tea Ice Cream
This would be one of many ultimate meals from the Quincy Dynasty.
I have been eating Chinese food since I was 4 years old, and this is the best I
have ever eaten.
For those who cringe at the thought of Jelly Fish Salad (as I did), this is a
must try. You will be extremely surprised and satisfied with this delectable
dish.
Please try this fabulous restaurant. Your only regret will be that you did not
try it sooner.

How often have you been to this restaurant? Have my own table
How long did you wait for a table? No wait
Noise Level: Normal conversation
Quality of Food: Excellent
Service: Excellent
Delivery? Yes
Comments: The food is authentic (not your typical poo-poo platter and fried rice
American version of Chinese food). The atmosphere is upscale, yet warm and
friendly. When you walk in, you are greeted by one of the owners, Vivian,
Richard or Andy. The tables are cherry wood to match the decor of the walls.
Scattered around the restaurant are tasteful sculptures and art work (nothing
tacky with bright red coloring). The wait staff is friendly; and, at the same
time, very professional. They have a full liqueur license, but you won't see
them pushing those fancy drinks with the little umbrellas; although, they will
make them if you ask. The have an extensive wine list. The wines are upscale but
very affordable. Now for the food: The egg rolls are very light with no trace of
grease. They weren't those heavy grease-laden things with the red and green
insides that you get in other restaurants. The tofu mushroom rolls are a must. A
delicate blend of exotic mushrooms wrapped in a lightly fried tofu skin. This
was served with a lightly flavored soy sauce with scallions and ginger. The pan
fried raviolis are light and tasty. A perfect blend of pork and shrimp. When you
cut into them, you do not get squirted with grease as in some restaurants. They
have the regular chicken wings and then there is the Dynasty Chicken Wings.
These have a mildly spicy flavor and are served on a plate of shredded lettuce
with rings of thinly sliced hot peppers. The Dynasty Spareribs are a short rib,
salt and peppered and twice fried. The meat is so tender that it just falls off
the bone. For seafood lovers, I recommend the salt and peppered seafood platter;
a combination of delicately fried calamari, scallops, and shrimp. This makes a
wonderful appetizer for two or more. It can also be an entree. The scallion
pancakes are light, fluffy and cooked to perfection. For entrees, I have tried
the Peking Duck, Sweet and Sour Crispy Fish Fillets, pan-fried Sea Bass, Seafood
and Tofu in a Hot Pot, Lobster with Glass Noodles in a Hot Pot, Fish and Tofu,
Sizzling Seafood Platter, Mongolian Lamb, Pork Loin in Peking Sauce, Chicken in
Chardoney Sauce, Lemon Chicken, Lobster with Ginger and Scallion, General Gau's
Chicken, Happy Family, Fried Rice with Spinach and Mushroom, Pork Fried Rice,
Shanghai Vegetables, Sauteed Asparagus, Chinese Broccoli, Chinese Spinach, Green
Mussels Steamed with Garlic, and several more dishes that I can't begin to
describe. The Peking Duck is virtually greaseless. The wait-staff will expertly
roll each pancake for you. What makes this dish different from the usual Peking
duck, is the addition of julienne strips of cucumber wrapped with moist duck
meat, crispy duck skin, scallion flowers and hoisen sauce. This is a must try
dish. The lobster with ginger and scallion is succulent and sweet. The pan-fried
sea bass is lightly battered and fried crisp on the outside while moist and
juicy inside. The Mongolian Lamb is tender with just enough spice to make this a
truly remarkable dish. The sweet and sour crispy fish filets are moist and
tender cod filets fried crisp on the outside and served with a light dark
colored sweet and sour sauce. The seafood and tofu in hot pot is a tender
assortment of calamari, scallops, lobster, and shrimp mixed together with
delicately fried tofu squares in a light and tasty sauce. I could go on and on
about this place, but I would rather you try it out. I guaranty you won't be
disappointed. I eat there at least once a week, if not more. Now when I go in, I
just say "Vivian, what am I eating today?" I have yet to be disappointed.

Let me just PRAISE a new place in North Quincy, Billings Road - former sight
of Saigon Panda. The place is called Quincy Dynasty. It is EXCELLENT. Very nice
atmosphere; Very attentive wait staff. Excellent Hot And Sour Soup, Peking
Dumplings, Kung Pao Chicken, EVERYTHING. I was 'introduced' to the place by
co-workers for the all-you-can-eat buffet at lunch time. Quite a different
buffet - everything is very very freshly served. MUCH variety, from chicken
wings, fingers, teriyaki, chicken with cashews, fish dishes, beef dishes - fried
rice/white rice, noodles, SUSHI, desserts. I am praising this place because I
know Chinese restaurants pop up everywhere in the Quincy area - and this is FAR
better than all. I am a big fan of Bejing House in Norwell, but this comes very
close.
